Current system is listed below. I'm fairly happy with how my current system performs but wondering what else I could get out of it if I swapped to say an 11700k or 11900k? is that even worth to enable pci-e 4.0 or Do I swap to a 12th gen/13th gen and a new MB while keeping my ddr4 memory if that's plausible. Currently it runs 130/140 fps easy on my 4k monitor in Forza and Red dead 2 is about the same. I'm more so just curious if I could get it stick to 144 fps by a simple MB/CPU swap or just even a CPU swap to enable pci-e 4.0.

This is cyberpunk in 4K almost no difference.

Interesting. Did they say if resizable bar was off for all tests?
Never said as far as I know here is the original artical.
I was just showing the very small difference 4.0 makes.

I'm sticking with my 10900F, at least until Ryzen 7000 with 3D vcache. Then I will decide if an upgrade is worthwhile.

I see no reason to jump to the 11700K just to get PCIe 4.0. (I even have a PCIe 4.0 drive at the moment, running at 3.0) Just so little difference in practice.

PCIe 5.0, DDR5, and maybe a new USB 4 port might sway me in a few years.

I9-11900k looks to be about a 10% boost in cpu capability.
I would not bother.

I5-13600K is a big boost, on the order of 50%.
You would need a X690 or Z790 based motherboard with DDR4 support.
Your ram can be reused and will work well.

Yea, I'm leaning towards a 12 or 13th gen pretty hard now, Gigabyte has a few z790 boards in the 200-300 dollar range I'd be ok with. Hopefully some cpu deals pop up black friday, now its more of a debate of will my PSU be fine if I do commit to the 13th gen.

11900K is not worth it either, just get an 11700K and overclock it to the same frequency. It really was a dud generation. I bought into 10th gen after 11th gen came out. The discounts on the previous generation were too much to pass up. Other reason was that in certain games and applications the 20MB of cache the 10900/10850K/10900K has actually allowed it to do better. Which is where AMD and Intel are diving into, a battle for who can cram the most cache on a chip.
