Like the user above, all you WoW fan boys need to relax. So you want to play WoW until you die, that's great. Stay in your little game, and be happy. For the rest of us, we want other options and Rift is that option. It's different than WoW, and contrary to what you morons think, it's not designed to "kill" (and I fucking hate that term) anything. It's a game that many of us really, really enjoy with new and dynamic content being introduced at a rate that far out paces anything WoW could achieve.
WoW absolutely rapes your wallet. It barely introduces new content, and when it does it charges a ton of money for it. So far Rift has essentially doubled the content in the game in one years time and has not charged us users a dime other than the standard monthly fee.
