Ripping PS2 BIOS

So basically I want to use the bios from my ps2 to be able to run pcsx2 and play ps2 stuff on my pc. However, I am incredibly nervous about damaging the ps2 in some way, so I was just curious if there was ANY risk in ripping the bios from the ps2. I don't want to burn the console out in doing it, so if there is any possibility of damaging it in any way by doing this, I don't want to risk it.

Update: Just figured out you need to mod the console, not really comfortable with that considering if I do mess up the things aren't cheap to replace anymore.

Yep, you need to mod the console, there are sofmods out there that let you use homebrew apps on your PS2 without opening it, you should look for those.

You can find plenty of PS2 bios files already dumped from PS2 consoles to use with the PCsx2 emulator.

You just have to google it. Murray.

There is a PlayStation 2 bios pack that someone uploaded to a website 5 or 6 years ago that already included PS2 bioses ripped from other PlayStation 2's. You can get it here: http://www.theisozone.com/downloads/playstation/emulators/playstation-2-bios-pack/
