Question RMx 750W vs SF750W

Hi,

I have a question regarding the RMx 750W and the SF750W PSUs. I need to choose one of the to put in the NZXT H200 case, but currently I'm leaning towards the SF one as it will leave more airflow for the GPU from below. Is there any difference between the two of them which would point towards the RMx one? The SF has platinum efficiency, a semi-passive mode and fully sleeved cables, they alone justify the higher price as I plan to get hem sometime in the future. Besides that the RMx has a longer warranty (10 years vs 7 years). My focus is on silence and as far as I know both are similar in that aspect.

Thanks

The H200 has a PSU shroud that's going to limit the amount of air gap under the GPU anyway.
SFX PSUs generally aren't a great value, so it's best not to buy one unless you really need it. They also have smaller fans and more compact inside for their components, so expect SFX to be louder (relative) than ATX once the fan has to kick on.
Platinum vs Gold efficiency difference isn't much %.

Thank you, I was planning to get SFX in case I decide to downsize the case in the future as I'm already using ITX components, but I'm not sure anymore, maybe an ATX PSU will be better overall option. I still need to rethink if I should not get a 650W one instead, as that one is recommended, but I wanted to use the fanless mode when not gaming.

Fanless modes are always set at a % of total rated power (varies depending on the PSU platform) So that's actually a decent reason to "overbuy" in the wattage department. Best I recall seeing is fanless below 50%.

My Undervolted (but 1305MHz) RX480 + OC'd i5-3570K system draws 265W (at the wall IIRC...which would be 240W from the PSU) while gaming.
