I've seen several posts about it, without finding a solution.

ROG Strix B450-F Gaming
AMD Ryzen 5 3400G
2600 RTX
SPM SSD M.2 PCIe 2280 - 1000GB Crucial P1
BIOS: 5201 (current BIOS)

ROG Strix B450-F Gaming Manual

Since my old Crucial P1 was full i bought a Samsung 980 PRO and put it in the M2_2 slot.
To my suprise the system did not recognize the new M2 drive.
The P1 is below the CPU and has windows on it, so I also boot from it, the 980 PRO I put in the slot on the bottom of the mainboard

Based on this screenshot from the Disk Manager (sorry all in German but it should be obvious that the 980 PRO can not be found.

In the thread here I found some information that the order I put the M2's in might matter but I am a complete newby and thought it woulbe be way easier.

It might be that I only have to "activate" the second M2 slot, but I can not find where in BIOS I can do this.

If you have any idea I am thankful for your support!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

I'd try and clear the CMOS and see if that alleviates the issue. You could also try and swap over the drives' M.2 placements and see if that changes anything.

Look in Device Manager and see if anything is flagged with a yellow exclamation mark. As for your platform, try and reinstall your chipset drivers in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

Thank you Lutfij!
Clear the CMOS is removing the mainboard battery, correct?
I am really (altough working/playing 25 years with PC's) quite a novice to perform such things.
I need the PC, my original one-time-Windows-Key Version is on the P1, so I am afraid that if the P1 is not recognized anymore I am not able to use my PC for quite some time.

I checked the Device Manager and nothing is flagged with such a mark.
What is the chipset driver? When I click on "Systen devices" a list of 5 items (ACPI, AMD Crash Defender etc) pop up.

Can it be that my 3400G is blocking some "lines"?
It is my first M2 installation, I though I just add the screw to it and then it will be detected by my PC, do I have to do anything before that?

You might want to take a look at the manual it looks like if your using a cpu that has an igp m2_2 is not supported.
