Roku Using All My Bandwidth

I'm using Comcast with a Download Speed of 75 Mbps and Upload Speed of 10 Mbps. I've never had a problem with exceeding the 300 GB monthly allotment until recently when I bought a Roku TV. I know how to access the "secret" menu to supposedly slow down the connection but it does not seem to limit my bandwidth usage enough.

I have an Arris TG862 Gateway and I'm wondering if I can use it to restrict the bandwidth going to my Roku TV. Alternative, is there any software I can use to accomplish the same task.

I'm using Windows 7 and an old, but still relevant Acer desktop.

How much TV are you streaming? Did you used to watch the same amount on your PC without issue or did you only just start watching a lot of streaming TV when you got your Roku?

I haven't used it that much but my wife has watched more I suppose.
