rookie help please w/ ga7zx1,is cpu w/ 100mhz fsb max???

i bought this gigabyte ga7zx1 mainboard new with a new duron 900mhz w/200mhz
fsb cpu. i can't get it to post.the screen will flicker so i'm getting power
to the mb i guess,but the cpu does not warm up.i didn't realize tech supt
w/gigabyte was nonexistent.if i have to go with a max 100mhz fsb,where do
you find one. i think i must have a bad cpu????as it does not make sense to
me and the manual is garbage.thanks for any help,this is driving me nuts,no
warranty on the cpu after 14 days w/merchant.gk

Sounds like a CPU or board problem.
I would start looking for assembly errors. Is the board mounted on
stand-offs with nothing else touching the board?
Re-do the steps on page 7 making sure the CPU and Heat Sink are correctly
mounted. Should be just like the pictures on pages 9 and 10,
flat on the CPU.
Plastic tape should be removed.

You have the option of running 100 or 133 with this board (CLK_JP).. The
Duron will go up to 200 but you wont get there with this board.
