Hi

I can tell when my roommates are using my internet as they do it when I am asleep, or when it is sitting idle any other time.

I have ran Netstat -abnof in a command window to attempt to see who is using it but I do not read the text very well I'm afraid.(I can post a copy here of the text to see if anyone else can tell me what is going on.

Could they watch everything I send or receive from the internet while I am online?

How could I tell if they have installed software to watch my online activity and record what is being written?

I am rather lost here but I do know somethings about the use of the internet, and there is just to much info and none of it seems to answer my questions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Robert

If:
-you are connected directly to the modem and/or router via a Cat5 cable
-you are the only one connected to that particular device
-WiFI is turned off

...then no, they cannot use your internet or see what you are doing.

If at some point in time they also connect to that router, then yes, they can use your internet.

Solution?
Move the modem and/or router to a secure location that they cannot access.

I guess you have nothing of intelligence to add to this discussion and the moderator should simply ban you from this discussion all together. I don't do porn... Thanks for caring little one.

It wold appear that Tom's has some real winners when it comes to "Digging through" information put into topics... or is it just this topic? Strange that I thought I wold get help from Tom's for this problem. The other people from another site have been much more helpful and more to the point, they read everything in the statements I provide and give "EXPERT" advice as to fixing the problem instead of just leaving many of my main points out of the topic altogether. or even better making weak attempts at putting down my cause without adding anything constructive.

So, For those who have given good advice, I thank you for your time. For those who had nothing that really helped at all go find another topic to bother.

G' Day.
