I find this power supply for $55-60 on most sites, at a discount. Most of them don't have reviews. I know Rosewill has a bunch of other successful and bad power supplies(hive), however, this series seems to go under the radar?

Instead of offering alternatives, can someone tell me if this budget 500W 80+ gold PSU would be worth picking up? I have an i5-2500+gtx 1060 6gb+8 GB ddr3 1333 mhz+1 TB WD Blue

I know efficiency ratings don't mean everything, but how do I spot a bad power supply? Most people on amazon review sites aren't PSU experts and mainly just look at the reviews and brand loyalty. So from an unbiased perspective can someone with a little knowledge help me out?

I'm open to solutions and discussions.

WRONG... the Lepton is newer RELEASE from ROSEWILL , there are no reviews out yet , but should see some soon. Specs look decent , but without reviews or the OEM quality can't be determined.

Jonnyguru is the place that provides reliable reviews on psu.

I will squeeze a little bit and get this better and newer platform:

read this, it might help you understand good v s evil...http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-psus,4229.html

A good power supply can produce stable, smooth voltages at high outputs. Cheap PSUs will have spikey output that wil be all over the map, and will overheat any where near their rated output. A cheap PSU isn't so cheap when it borks your motherboard, CPU, or RAM, or causes random resets/restarts. Spend the money up front, get a name-brand, highly-rated PSU.

I might just take a gamble. Do you think I should go for a 500W or 600W if I'm supplying my current specs?
