I'm building a gaming PC on the 2nd floor of my house all the way on the east side and my routers downstairs all the way on the west side. I know wired is best so I figured I could string a wire connecting them. I hear cat 5 is good and cheap so should I buy that? Also here is my PC build if that matters at all.

In reagards to quesiton about ethernet:
Cat 5e (anything purchased in the last 5-10 years should be 5e) is perfectly fine for your run.
Now are you going to run it up the wall, accross the attic and down to yoru room or litterly just run it up the stairs, and down the hall to your room?
If it is the latter, a much cleaner option would be to get an av1000 or better powelrine network adapter. It wont be quite as good as wired ethernet, and you wont have actual gigabit speeds but unless you transfer large files on your internel network then that wont be an issue.

In regards to your PC build:
Dont need an aftermarket cooler for non-overclockable CPU
Dont buy a v300 SSD, those are cheap for a reason, their random read write performance...
Cat5e (normal Cat5 shouldn't be used anymore) is cheap and will work fine for connections up to 1Gbit. If you need an odd size than you may have to get bulk cable (very cheap) and terminate the ends yourself with the right tools. A pre-made cable will cost more but less fussing.

Power Supply is not terrible but not that good of quality either. If possible stick with a Seasonic or XFX unit (The G2/B2 units of EVGA are good too).
