Router keeps dropping internet connection

Hey everyone,

I've been looking for ages and I can't seem to find someone with a similar problem and I was hoping you could help.
I have a TD-W8960N, and I'm running my pc off of some TP-Link powerline adaptors, and for months now my connection drops over Ethernet, and when I'm in the router control panel, the ADSL line goes down and the connection drops, then after about a minute it all reboots and if I'm lucky it will find a connection without me having to manually reconfigure the router.
Sometimes it's just the internet connection that drops, and the ADSL line stays up though. No amount of reboots and factory resets seem to resolve this.
Not sure whether this is relevant, but I've also been getting a rather large amount of intrusion alerts, especially on ports 80 and 443, and 22/23 (I don't have ssh enabled so I think someone's targeting me here). Every few minutes my internet drops, I'm lucky to go an hour with less than 10 disconnects. I've tried swapping out routers to no avail, the same thing happens. I've put up with it for months but this is getting beyond stupid.

Hope one of you can find something I missed, it's not just my device that loses connection.

Thanking you in advance,

~Saber

Solution
If the ADSL connection drops from the router then you need to speak to your ISP. Keep a log of the dates and times that it disconnects and check the router's log file for any reoccurring errors. A fault is easier to diagnose if there's a reoccurring pattern.

You may want to try a new ADSL cable and microfilter, but I've never known them to go wrong.
