Good Morning Community. I only know enough about networking to be dangerous so I need a little advice, please. I have just recently switched from cable internet to fiber (1gig). My mesh system is not capable of delivering the speed I have. I currently have an Orbi RBR50v2 with one satellite, and my house is 1700 sq ft. I am currently getting 330Mbps download speeds with 14 to 20 ms latency.

I would say we have around 25 devices that are on the network, but certainly not all at the same time. What are your recommendations for router or mesh to take advantage of the higher bandwidth? Thanks in advance for the help.

Just so you are aware, via wifi you won't get the theoretical maximum throughput of your ISP level of service.

When you measured performance, were you connected directly to the router or to the satellite?

Is the speed consistent between varying devices?

I have a Ubiquiti device based network and see similar levels of performance with my wifi devices as you are seeing with wired devices being much faster (almost 3x faster).

I removed the rout

I measured performance at router via ethernet and was almost at 980 Mbps. When connecting wireless to satellite (5G) and standing 1 foot away, the connection was what was listed above. Yes it does vary per device and my router on 5g has 866Mbps max.

My thought process is if I get a router capable of more than the max connection speed from the ISP, it would speed up current connections, seeing that my router via wireless is not capable of 1 gig.

By the way, here is a thread you might want to take a look at. Just for reference.

Thanks for all the help today. I was thinking of a $300 budget, but if it is only a marginal increase, it is probably not worth it.
