Please help me. I just changed my router password. The default username is "admin" and the default password is also "admin". I changed the default password into something else, then clicked 'Apply.' After that, a dialogue box with the title 'Authentication Required' appeared. I entered the default username and the NEW password, and the dialogue box rejected that and insisted for the correct username and/or password. Then I entered the default username and the DEFAULT password, and still the dialogue box rejected it. I don't know if the router settings failed to save the new password or what. All I know is that now I can't access my router settings. I don't want to reset it yet to factory settings since I'm sure I did not forget whichever password.

I don't think you have a choice but to take it back to basics then see if you can get in with the default password. Are you sure it's admin? Sometimes, password is the default password where admin is the login name. Make sure you follow the reset rules carefully - the right number of seconds, power on or off, etc.

Only thing you can do is reset it, then change the password again and make sure you type it right. There was only one case that I have seen that a correct password did not let a user log on and that was with a few locked BlackBerries.

Yeah, I had no choice but to reset it altogether. It's just weird that that happened. Thanks, all.

@Saga Lout: Yes, I was sure it was admin; I was able to log in with that password.
