Hi Guys,

So today I am hosting a short notice LAN party, and I'm trying to sort out the networking stuff. I have a switch and a router, and I've simply connected the switch to the Router (Switch Uplink port to Router LAN port 1) and my computer to the switch, all via ethernet. I don't have a second computer to test on, but if other computers connect either via ethernet or wirelessly (the router is broadcasting and I can confirm that from my phone), then I think they should all be able to connect to each other.

Have I done this correctly (as I'm unable to test atm) or have I missed something?

Thanks

Chris

Solution
Correct. If the router has dhcp server enabled, just plug and play. Any 2 computers which connect to the router (on LAN ports) should be connected. In this case, the switch is just an extension to the router LAN ports.
