Router upgrade good or bad?

so i bought a asus ac 2400 and i think i am regretting because i just did a speed test and the enthernet to my oc from the asus router was 24 ms 59.86 download and upload is 6.00 and i conected the ethernet cord back into my modem i got 24ms 50.03 download and upload is 6.04...
so my question is should i go take the asus router back i paid like 270 at best buy

The performance through the router is the same as the performance without it. What is the problem?

What bandwidth are you paying for? Are you paying for 50/5 ? Is so then you are getting what you pay for.
