Hello Guys, I have Toshiba Satellite E45-b4200 model laptop, currently I face one problem, that was, I Got the new main battery installed this week and when I power on the laptop, the message "RTC battery is low press to set date/time" appears. I tried to fix/adjust the date and time stuff but when I turn off and turn on again the laptop, it asking me again and again. So, I tried to open it the cover to find if the cmos battery was there to replace with the new one, but I only found the RTC battery layout with no hardware in the motherboard. I think the main battery also acts as the power source for the CMOS. So, I planned to sold additional CMOS battery on RTC battery layout to solve this issues. Is this really possible to do that?????

Thanks in advance for your support!!

Solution
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Yeah, about that CMOS soldering, please don't do that! It takes power from the laptop's battery not the CR2032 cell, since there is no battery physically present on the board, just a white trace on the PCB indicating that some boards might need it.
