Hi, have recently put together a new pc for my birthday. Here are what I currently have. Temporarily, there is a GT 1030 as a placeholder, while money is saved for a better GPU. Also only have 8 GB ram for now, still saving money to get more ram.

CPU: i5-10600k
Motherboard: Asus Prime B560M-K
Ram: 8GB Kingston Fury Beast, CL 16 1.2v
SSD/HDD: 480 GB Transcend SSD 220S
GPU: Asus GT 1030
PSU: Seasonic Focus GM Gold 550 Watts, Semi Modular
__

question:
have already looked over at what the store at the mall has. They have an RTX 2060 at 500 usd. Would an RTX 2060 be a good fit for my pc. No bottleneck with the cpu?

That is quite a high price for a 2060... can you...

That is quite a high price for a 2060... can you not look to order something online? Typically the newer AMD RX 6600 is a much better buy, faster than a 2060 and costs a bit less.

As for if it will fit with your machine - yes a 10600K should handle either card fine, although you do need to increase your memory to 16gb for many more recent titles. Also make sure you use a dual channel kit, i.e. 2 x 8gb modules for 16gb rather than 1 x 16 - the CPU can access the two together in 'dual channel mode' which doubles the memory throughput vs a single module.

nice to hear the 2060 would go well with my setup. Oh, so 500 usd is expensive for RTX 2060? Hmm, ok will think it over again. Have plenty fo time to think anyway, as it would take a month or two before I could save 500 usd. They actually also have a Fighter RX 6600 for sale, and it's selling cheaper than the RTX 2060.. but I became scared to buy an RX 6600 after seeing some threads here in the forum of people getting various errors with their RX 6600. I buy things like coolers online, but if it's a gpu.. I always buy from physical stores for better warranty.. this store I'm buying from has a 3 day "we will replace it if it does not work" warranty on their gpu's, and so far every gpu I purchased from them has worked.. the 1050 ti and 1650 in my sig both came from them.

about the ram.. I intended to buy another 8Gb from them yesterday, but they said that they are out of stock of 8gb. They only got 16gb ram stick, and the store guy said I would get BSOD if try to partner a 16gb with the 8gb I currently have. So my plan now is to just save enough money to get two 16GB sticks, so the pc would have a total of 32 GB ddr4 ram.

@mcan226

have heard that there will be an RTX 2060 super? Perhaps that should help lower the price of vanilla 2060.

checked the store price again. They're not actually selling it for 500 usd, the price they're selling it is only 465 usd.. but I guess that's still overpriced and above msrp of the 2060.

anyway, an RTX gpu is the last piece on my "quest" on building a new pc (lol). Can wait a little longer for the price to drop. The games I play the most are Granblue Fantasy and Genshin Impact, my 1050ti still handles these games just fine.

they re released it once already in 2019, I don't see news of them doing it again in the last few months.
The super series competes too well against the RTX 3050 for Nvidia to release those now.
I have a 2070 Super, its like it doesn't exist on charts since you can't buy them now.
