I have done a lot of reading the last couple of days and I am wondering if there is some one out there that has a simular build to the one im currnetly busy building :
RTX 2070 , 16gb ram , i5-4690 , psu: 750 watt

I read online that this build would perform its best at 1440p thus im getting a new monitor or would it be smarter to upgrade to the i7-4790k? Because I dont want to spend much money. And how do would this computer run?

should probably mention I have a asus z97 mobo

If anything you'll get more out of your graphics card on a 1440p screen. The CPU limitation will...
I'd get the 1440p monitor if it must be one or the other. It would run great at 1440p 60hz.Really the GPU would be capable of more than 60 fps at 1440p but that CPU is going to be a limitation in games like Battlefield V for example. Any game that is core/thread hungry might not run at its max potential on that CPU. So you will be leaving some performance on the table if you play games that max your CPU. If you get a 1440p 60hz monitor it won't matter anyway.

It would be pointless to have that level of GPU on a 1080p 60hz screen.

I was thinking the same thing. However Would the 1440p have a big effect on the cpu limitation?

If anything you'll get more out of your graphics card on a 1440p screen. The CPU limitation will stay the same. For example you might get 80 fps at 1080p and you might also get 80 fps at 1440p. The reason the FPS wouldn't go up at 1080p compared to 1440p is because you hit a limit with your CPU and can't go over 80 fps. That's just an oversimplified example so you can understand what I mean. Not really what FPS you should expect. I can't give a single number of how well multiple games will run.

Isee you are a gtx 1080ti with a I7 4790K?
how is that cpu performing?
