Question RTX 2070 from GTX 1070

So that's the question. I have a GTX 1070. I see that my card would sell for almost 400. I had a very brief chance at a 3060 and was going to get it, but it was sold out before I could get to Microcenter. They actually had them for MSRP. Anyway, was looking and found an EVGA RTX 2070 for about 649. Do you think that is a worthwhile upgrade? I also hear the 6600xt comes out on the 11th.

Current system

Ryzen 5 3600
AsRock AB350 Pro 4
16gb ddr4 3000mhz
256gb nvme boot drive
1tb sata ssd
2 1tb spinners
Cooler Master MB511 case with 6 case fans
Using a Vetroo v5 cpu cooler, have another fan on the way to set up push/pull

Power supply is a powerspec 750 bronze unit. Could probably use an upgrade.

Current card is a Zotac GTX 1070 mini

It's a good card, but starting to get the upgrade itch. Have a 27 inch freesync monitor 144hz that works well with the 1070 with GSync compatibility. Resolution is 1080p.

Thoughts?

Op I just purchased yesterday a Evga 2080 ti with a Ek vector wb with backplate for $900 to upgrade from my 1070 ti.

So far no issuse with a 3600x.
I play Ghost Recon Wildlands on a asus 1440p 165hz monitor.
On ultra in a less forested area I got 105-145 fps.

My son's unit has a Gigabyte 2070 super with a 3600 and he is really loving minecraft with the rtx.
He also has a viewsonic 1440p 165hz monitor.

I got my 2080 ti off craiglist and was able to talk the seller into a picture of my drivers license ( No Ssn on Colorado license) and $800 of the $900.
About 3 hrs after getting it tested I made the phone call sold then took him the rest.

By chance was the 3060 at M C a evga?

In Denver Dtc Micro Center they have been listing of the early mornings Evga cards But they are taking those cards for the In-store builds.

I drove down 1 week ago thinking I had a chance at a Evga Rtx 3070 Ftw3 Ultra to find out thats what happened.
That morning the only other GPU's for the M C lottery was 2 gigabyte's running $979.99 and 1099.99.

Also be 1st in line doesn't mean squat with their lottery.
Good Luck!!!!!

So question, I found a listing for a new 3060. The 2070 super is used. From what I can see the 2070 super is a bit faster. What do you think? The 2070 super is 50 dollars cheaper as well. But I agree that they should NEVER put cards on their site that aren’t available for purchase.

Good Morning Guys!!!!!!

For $50 difference, Myself I would go new as well even with alittle performance difference between the cards.

Thankfully the 2080 ti still had 220 days of evga warranty left plus he gave me a copy of the receipt which he purchased the extended through M C.

When I brought it home to test it, I used my wife's unit.
2600x
Asus ch7 non-wifi
16g G.skill flare x 3200 cl 14
Corsair cx750m psu
Samsung 1080p 60hz tv
On Unigene Heaven on ultra and 8x Anti-A
Fps was 250 -350 fps depending on the scene.
So 3600 and 2070s/3060-3070 I feel no problem.
She's not a gamer so, though she thinks she is (facebook games) LOL (I will most likely put the 1070-Ti in hers and keep the gtx 960 4gb as backup)
No games tested as there aren't Any on her system.

I got lucky finding someone locally that allowed me to test 1st.

Good Luck with the Hunt !!!!!!!!!

You might sell that 1070ti. The 1070 I've got is worth close to 400 selling on ebay.

What do you guys think of the 5600xt, looks like performance they aren't far behind and I'm seeing them for just over 400-450. Considering to see when the 6600xt comes out if any prices drop.

Well, lost the deal on the 2080 super. But that's fine. Was watching some videos, the guy said the card came from an alienware. According to a guy on youtube he'd bought one and had to use washers just so the card wouldn't overheat and eventually put a new cooler on it. Ended up pulling the trigger on a zotac rtx 2070 mini for 600 plus 15 in shipping which seemed as fair as you get these days. Funny part is my 1070 was a zotac mini card also. If I get 350-400 for it then I'm happy.

I have 2 Zotacs left
The wifes gtx 960 4gb
And the gtx 1070ti
When I got my son's Gigabyte 2070s with his monitor for xmas last yr I sold a Zotac 1060 6gb Amp to a friend for his son.
I have never had any issuse's with any of them.

Ps both was bought in Aug last yr.
It was soo hard sitting on those till xmas.
Especially when I had to install the gpu and hookup the monitor to make sure they worked as the Micro Center 30 day exchange or refund would be well past @ xmas.
