So I did order the 2080 gaming x trio but it was never delivered so the only one I can afford now is the Rtx 2080 duke is it good I don’t really fancy paying a lot more for a bigger heat sink and more rgb

Solution
RX5700XT. Sapphire. Nitro+. Thats All i gotta say but the drivers are buggy as hell and are still immature, AMD has this 'finewine' thing as drivers mature the GPU's whoop Nvidia GPU's, It's a good investment and it saves alot

Got a 5700xt nitro my self happy with it except drivers are real bummers, but ah well, it still outperforms the 2070 and 2070super OC it and its as powerful as the 2080 founders edition, just wait for the drivers to mature it should optimise fully and be as fast as the TI, my one boosts to 2200mhz, and its stable silicon lottery I guess, 1950 game clock

In general the Duke is one of MSI's higher end cards for a particular GPU. So yes, it's good.

But as you say, anything would be better than your 1050 Ti, so I would personally just take a look at what performance you're looking to get from an upgrade, look at your power supply and see if it limits your options, and then decide on whether or not to max out your budget or settle for something a little more cost effective.

5700XT does not outperform the 2070 Super except on a very few titles like BF5 or Forza. 2080 is on another tier. However they are pretty close 95700xt and 2070 Super), and with better drivers as you say, might one day match or outperform 2070s/2080. But just because it worked with GCN, AMD finewine, does not mean it would be the same with RDNA. But as fast as 2080 ti? lol..nah. Don't mislead people.

Your argument for the 5700xt over the 2070 Super would be, almost 100 bucks cheaper at an on par if not similar performance.

as others are saying, either 2080 Super or 2070 Super.

Overall, while you could pay the premium for something like the duke, a more budget friendly option is still perfectly fine.

Like this Gigabyte Windforce 2080 Super for only 45 more pounds

or could go the 2070 Super route to get nearly identical performance to 2080 but for a lot less.

Like with this Zotac Mini for 445 pounds

Or this beefier cooler Windforce 3x for 463 pounds

Personally, I've always liked either EVGA SC edition cards, or Zotac Mini cards for length reasons to fit it into most any case.

But if you have a big enough case with enough room for a beefier and lengthier card then can go with something like that Windforce 3x or spend a little more money for flashy RGB along with the larger cooler.

Like with these two:

Gigabyte AORUS - 579 pounds

ASUS STRIX OC - 570 pounds
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product...g-oc-video-card-rog-strix-rtx2070s-o8g-gaming

(I'm a personal fan of ASUS STRIX design and RGB. But Gigabyte is no slouch either with their latest AORUS linuep)

Using the cards QwerkyPengwen linked - remember, there's less than a 10% difference between 2070 Super and 2080 - you're looking at:
-the cheapest 2070 Super listed, the Zotac Mini, for ~ 35% less.
-the most expensive 2070 Super listed, the Gigabyte Aorus, for 3% less. It would make more sense in this case, to snag up the 2080 then...
-but the fact remains that the 2070 Super is much more affordable, with a very minor performance loss.

Also another thing is the super would be pointless to get as my cpu is only just out of bottlenecking the 2080 so I would get no more performance
Care to share with us what the cpu and monitor is?

also I am gett an msi mag241c and I have overclocked 2600 MHz ballistixs sport memory dual channel 16 gb
2070 Super is far enough for high refresh 1080p. Any stronger than that requires a more capable cpu to see any reasonable gains.

Right so we ordered another GPUs I managed to find an ROG 2080 super advanced edition
Not a good match for your Ryzen 2600X running slower 2600mhz ram. A 3700X or 9700K is a better match for a 2080 Super.
Ryzen cpus are sensitive to ram speed, and to get the most out it, 3200-3600mhz is preferred.
