Question Rtx 2080 not outputting display.

I have this new pc build using an RTX 2080 when I installed and turned it on the fans spun fast and loud. There was no input display.

I have it connected a Asus prime X470 pro. With a AMD Ryzen 2700x. There is no OS installed yet.

I know the card works cause I put it into my old build.

But why does it not work in my new build?

Also the fans will spin with it not connected to the psu. I accidentally turned on the pc with it not connected.

I know the build works cause I threw my old 960 in the new build just to see if I'd have a display.

Do I have to install a OS to just get the correct drivers?

What power supply using? Have you connected all needed PCIe power cables to the card?

Ok its solved the issue was that the CPU wasn't plugged in

Weird, CPU not plugged in, would not have allowed the old 960 working. However, good that you solved it.
