RTX 2080ti power and pcie

Just curious if two 6+2 pins is good enough for a 2080 ti and confirming the PCIe is 3.0?

2080 ti needs 2 8-pin connectors based on what i've seen, so no. I personally wouldn't run that expensive of a card on anything less than a high-quality (seasonic/EVGA/corsair/flower 80+ gold or better) 650W or higher PSU. It is pcie 3.0 though.

6+2 is an 8 pin. Connector is split for convenience if only a 6-pin is needed.

Why am I being downvoted? A 6+2 pin and an 8 pin are the same thing, it needs all 8 from 2 separate connectors, this makes no sense

Honestly I’d say they’re mostly down voting you because the way you replied sorta looks a bit like you’re spoiled? Saying it won’t work unless you have the best that’s just what I assume but I have two 3 6+2 pin connectors actually on a 750w

Depends on the actual PSU in question really, those 2080Ti's are going to pull a lot of power so a high quality unit would be best to both run it stable and protect the investment. These things are going to cost quite a bit, some well over $1,000.


Personally I would go with a 750W PSU.

Seasonic Focus Plus
Corsair RMX
EVGA G2 or G3
Or one of the Seasonic Primes.

I would not risk a high end GPU on a budget PSU.

Depends on the actual PSU in question really, those 2080Ti's are going to pull a lot of power so a high quality unit would be best to both run it stable and protect the investment. These things are going to cost quite a bit, some well over $1,000.

If you want to risk the new GPU you can use it.

The NEX is NOT a good unit.

Very poor voltage regulation, low quality.

Sorry I read 1 6+2 pin connector and assumed he had a 450W unit or something, guess it says 2.
