How do you feel about pairing I7 5775C with RTX 3070/3080 at 1440p for maximum settings? Would 3080 be bottlenecking it a lot?

Edit: I'd politely ask everyone who makes their judgements based on unconscious impressions to not answer. People with logical understanding of this cpu and its performance, people who have owned that cpu, have explored different kinds of tests are the ones whose advice is needed. Don't confuse me and other people who may have the same question with statements that 1070/1080 is the limit of 5775C when even 4790K and 6700K (which according to tests are slower in games) will be more than enough for 1070/80.

I believe this somewhat answers your question...

The only good thing about a 5775C is the igpu. For the rest it's a low clocked i7 that performs inferiour to a 4790K. No way it's gonna hold a 3080.
If you think that clock speed is what defines a cpu then you really have no clue. i don't know what kind of planet you just dropped from but 5775C outperformes 7700K in games due to its 128 mb L4 cache. Don't wanna seem all knowing, i'm the one that's asking after all but what you just said was one of the silliest things that could have been said about this cpu.

Bottleneck is a bad word.

It would depend a lot on the game you playing. Games that can use more cores it will struggle some but games that can't should be fine.

A 3070/3060ti should work fine if you can find one.

I believe this somewhat answers your question:
https://www.tomshardware.com/features/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-ampere-cpu-scaling-benchmarks
In the article, it mentions that the i3 10100 is the almost equivalent of i7 6700k (your CPU a bit better than 10100)

Thank you for the link.
I'm very confident that it'll work good with the 3070 because i7 7700k is recommended at least for this card and they should have similar performance. Plus 3070 has equivalent performance at 1440p to 1080 ti at 1080p and I see 5775C or 7700K were frequently paired with 1080 ti, so it should be fine.
But 3080 seems like a bit too much for the cpu, it really needs something like 9th or 10th gen i7.
