Hi so I was playing GTA 5 yesterday with my RTX 3070 at high settings and turned down some options to get more fps but even then my fps fluctuates to 60 to 100~ ? idk why its happening and im pretty sure i should be getting more than that right? idk if im bottlenecking or what but i've watched a youtube video and the guy was getting atleast 100+ fps with a 3070?

My system specs are:

Ryzen 3600
RAM Tridentz 3600mhz cl16
RTX 3070
2x SSD 250GB and 1TB
ASUS B450F Gaming Motherboard
Seasonic GOLD 550W PSU (I know I should get a higher wattage psu with the GPU I have, it will be my next investment)

3070 does not need to turn settings down on any game at 1080p with a strong enough cpu/system to compliment it. The CPU you have should do about 90-100 FPS maxed out on GTA V. Your PSU is not powerful enough according to Nvidia.

I wish that was the case for me idk whats happening, i aslo watched vids pairing the 3600 and 3070 together and it seemed a good combo already but playing gta online id sometimes notice my frames drop so im not quite sure unless it actually is my power supply

Can you do a ninja technique?
Usually, we connect dual 8-pin PCIe power cables (single cable which splits into two 8-pins to the GPU). All you do is have to power both 8 pins of your 3070 with two different 8-pin PCIe power cables (both originating from PSU). Check if you get any difference.

Oh my cables are two separate 8pins already

Please run userbenchmark and share the public link to the results. This may help point to what if any component is underperforming.
UserBenchmarks: Game 123%, Desk 88%, Work 113%
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - 83.3%
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3070 - 146.5%
SSD: Crucial MX500 250GB - 103.4%
SSD: Crucial MX500 1TB - 110.9%
RAM: G.SKILL F4 DDR4 3600 C16 2x8GB - 92.3%
MBD: Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING

Is this what i meant to send or the whole thing? edit: i had some other stuff running in the background so the cpu was a bit yeee..

Please run it with nothing else running and can you share the link to the results, it gives a lot more information.

The RAM performance suggests it might not be running in dual channel mode. Is the RAM in the correct slots for dual channel per motherboard instructions? Download CPU-Z and check the memory tab and Channels and see if it’s single or dual.
Im pretty sure it is, i even checked the bios just now and made sure that xmp /docp was enabled and it was so idk why it said that, im gonna check cpuz now

Edit: just checked the channels and it says dual. however ive noticed that my dram frequency is at 1799.6mhz? shouldnt it be 3600mhz since i have 3600mhz ram?

Edit: okay nevermind i just read about it lol...

Hi all.
I can't control my excitement to share this with you. I watched this video and downloaded MSI Afterburner and Kombustor. I followed exact procedure of overclocking my GPU with the video.
Got my core clock speed boosted +200 MHz, memory clock boost +250 MHz. CPU power limit and Temp maxed out.
Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING Performance Results - UserBenchmark , my new benchmark. Got 98th percentile on GPU.
Requesting @Reiv_4 to follow the same and share results with us, both benchmark and in game experience.

You have nothing wrong with your system, it is just that GTA V is not optimized for newer hardware, I have the same issue with my 3700X + 3070, I noticed that when the fps drops occur, the GPU usage will drop to 40%, this only happens with GTA, all the other titles run perfectly fine.

Hi, thanks for this but i dont wanna risk overclocking atm since i only have a 550w and i have little headspace, but i'll see what i can do
