Hi everyone.
I just finished assembling my pc, I am very happy.
I have a rtx 3070 and a processor (for a matter of budget sorry) a 9700k cpu.
I have invested a lot to have a nice PC for the years, work and play very well, see landscapes well and have fun without fps drops.
However, I realized that I have a budget of around 250 euros.
And the monitor I don't know which one to take.
I have currently ordered this: https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B07Y3RYLVH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (ps: I paid 206 euros not as much as now.
They still have to ship now.)

But do you think it is recommended to take a 2k at 144hz?
Or would 1080p 144hz be fine too?

Solution
Within 250€ budget for monitor AOC 24G2U/BK with 1080p, 144 Hz and FreeSync (works for Nvidia in G-Sync compatible mode) is fine choice. From reviews - good one in that class. FYI: AOC 24G2U/BK is same AOC 24G2 with added USB hub.

Warning: There is cheaper AOC 24G2U5/BK around with 75 Hz only panel. Do not mismatch AOC 24G2U/BK with this.

Seems like they charge a lot for a 24" 1080p monitor

We in Europe have thing called VAT so stuff is obviously more expensive. But Amazon with obscene shipping cost suck if same thing is available from local sellers. In Latvia for local customers this same monitor cost 197 euros. And Italy is not that bad. I believe OP must check online shops around him for...

If you want to run it off your TV you wont get the full visual effect but you'll get close. The plus is and there is a plus you cut your response time from about 16 milliseconds to 8 so the game reacts faster and runs smoother. I'm only mentioning that because you seem to be on a budget. To tell you the truth when I run mine on my TV its 65 inches so that's nice but I cant really see the difference. Your eye can only process so much if your really picky yeah you can probably notice but the smoothness and faster reaction time make the game so much better. That's just my opinion I'm sure someone will bust on it but that's fine look it up.

You have rtx 3070?
is there a possibility of a bottleneck?
I do (just got it actually) But as for bottlenecks you won't really have to worry about that with monitors...when it comes to monitors the thing to look out for are that one's too big can have scaling issues (especially if you get a TV for a monitor) and ones with unpopular resolutions might not be supported in every game

So you have 1080p 144hz and rtx3070 right?

In Latvia for local customers this same monitor cost 197 euros. And Italy is not that bad. I believe OP must check online shops around him for better price. No way to get acceptable 1440p monitor within 250€ budget though otherwise than used monitor purchase or going into VAT fraud.

I'm in the UK so I have to pay VAT too. The high refresh makes it expensive I guess. If you can live with only 75hz you can get 27" 1440p for the same money.

I think 27" 1440p is better than 24" 1080p

Definitely it depends. 27" 1440p and 24" 1080p have the same PPI and pixel size. 27" is not so pleasant in near distance, in larger distance require larger font size, that is somewhat compensated with larger resolution. Does matter in office/development/design tasks, not in games though. Also 1440p is more resource demanding if you want to play in it with same graphics quality settings already usual and accepted for 1080p. Eq. 1080p high quality may become unpleasantly sluggish on 1440p. In modern AAA games on 1440p RTX 3070 is the best if one want to see fluid movement with all niceties enabled.
