[SOLVED] RTX 3080 - DP no signal but HDMI works fine.

System components:
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x
GPU RTX 3080 MSI Trio
OS: Windows 10 64-bit

So after having the RTX 2070S for awhile I wanted to upgrade to the RTX 3080 and sell my 2070S. After the installation everything was running smoothly for an hour or so when I decided to power my system off. After a quick power on I saw that the DP was showing no signal while ALL working parts of my PC are functioning properly. I decided to see how the display would look using HDMI 2.0 and it works fine - no issues. I have tried several things which I have listed below but I am giving up hope as it's been over 5 hours of work. I really appreciate anyone reading this and I would love some help. Thank you so much.

Things I have tried:

• Unplugging the monitor and PC for 10+ minutes
• Reformatting C: and reinstalling windows 10

-Uninstall/reinstall drivers while switching between HDMI and DP ---- Note: DP works for ~4 Minutes after restarting from uninstalling drivers and Geforce experience. Screen goes to no signal after
-Reset BIOS
-Managing 3D Settings.
- Reseat RAM
Note: DP always works in safe mode but not without safe mode on.

Have you tried a different DP cable and/or port with your GPU?

Also, from where did you purchase the 3080?

I have also tried using the several DP ports and still no luck. I purchased my 3080 from a retailer factory sealed.

Is this your GPU?

There are two BIOS versions for it and an install utility to assist. Worth a shot updating to see if that helps with DP ports.

Also, make sure your motherboard BIOS is updated as well. This can often help with newer GPU issues.

I currently don't have another DP cable but I will go out and get one tomorrow . Sorry for the reply as I was updating my MB bios and GPU bios. Still no changes but I can try the new DP cord tomorrow. Any other suggestions? Also for the 4 minutes that I can run on dp my system can’t detect my GPU. Weird
