Hello! I'd like to buy a new graphics card, and I was thinking of getting the RTX 4070. I wanted to ask if my processor might be too weak to handle the RTX 4070's performance. My processor is the AMD 7 5800X. I've been researching on various websites and found some mentioning that my processor could cause a bottleneck with the RTX 4070. Maybe I should consider getting the RTX 3070 TI instead. What do you think?

PC SPECS:
CPU: AMD 7 5800X
GPU: RTX 2070 SUPER
PSU: 700W
RAM: 32GB
DISPLAY: 1440p

Nope, not even close to a bottleneck, especially not at 1440p. The rtx 4070 is roughly as powerful as the rtx 3080 or RX 6800xt and those cards worked and continue to work just fine with a Ryzen 7 5800x. While your CPU is no longer top dog, it still has many years of service left in it at 1440p, and even more if you decide to game at 4k in the future. You could also look at an RX 6800xt, slightly cheaper, similar performance in games if you play without ray tracing, more VRAM. Or a 6950 XT, slightly better non ray tracing performance, more VRAM, about the same price. If you really care about ray tracing then the 4070 is faster by about 15%, but you still only get 12gb of vram, which is enough for the immediate future, but it'll be a bigger issue in the next couple of years or so.

I have seen 3080 12GB obliterate 6900xt by 100% on all resolutions in Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition.
So RTX4070Ti should do minimum just as good.
But when DLSS3 is unleashed... .

Is 6950XT that much better than 6900XT?
I guess ME:EE is the outlier .
Most extreme case.
