Hi,
I can buy MSi Ventus 2x RTX 4070 12GB for a great price 400€.
Then I have another great deal for Gigabyte Gaming RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB for 745€.
Im gaming in 4K 60Hz.
My question is how today game stands in 4K resolution with 12GB VRAM?
If I can stay 3 years with 12GB on 4K its alright for me.
Or its a waste of money for 4K and for smooth experience its necessary to have at least 16GB VRAM?

I would opt for the RTX4070Ti Super. The RTX4070 makes no sense to exist to exist in Nvidia's portfolio. If you truly want to go for 4K, I'd ask you to look into the RTX4080 Super. Since you mentioned Euro's, where in Europe are you located?

TechSpot states that the RTX 4070ti is 21% faster than the RTX 4070 Super at 4k.

(20% slower at 1440p and 18% slower at 1080p).

Take a look around, the 4070ti is normally quite a jump but the performance increase is arguably justified.
Alternatively, if budget is an issue take a look at some RTX 3090s that might be available privately - it pushes similar performance to the RTX 4070ti but has excessively more VRAM. You do however lose the frame generation feature as a result.

The 4070 vanilla. Is it second hand? I'm guessing so.

Look, everyone is pretty much telling you to go the 4070 TI Super, as it's a stronger card for 4k. However, depending on the game, you won't be playing super fast FPS, or all the graphical details at high or Ultra. The 4070 TI Super with the extra vram (16gb v 12gb) Will last longer. But for really decent performance at 4k it's the 4080 Super as min, or go home :)

What system will you be paring the GPU with? Will possibly need a new PSU too!

The vanilla RTX 4070 is one, but with full 36 months warranty.

My current rig:
i5-10400, 2x8GB RAM 3200MHz, 550W Seasonic G12 Bronze.

Wondering to buy vanilla RTX 4070 into current rig and then upgrade the whole rig in the future.

But if this rig wouldnt be able to run games in 4K with DLSS, then I will buy a whole new rig or RTX 4070 Ti Super if the CPU is enough for this GPU.

You need a new PSU before you even think of getting a new GPU. Unless you have a need for Nvidia features, I would choose a 7900xt, over a 4070 ti Super. It is slightly faster than a 4070ti super, and has more V-ram, which can be quite important at 4k.

Honestly, even for 4k gaming, I would say it is time for a new rig.

I am talking purely in terms of vram and raster performance. DLSS3 isn't useless, even with FSR around. Some people have a want or need for Nvidia specific features. Some softwares simply are better optimized for Nvidia.

Assuming you are on a B460 series motherboard, with that 10th gen chip, your current CPU can actually be slower, in gaming, than the 3600 in this review, due to slower ram speeds. A 4070 is a bit faster than the 7700xt used in some results. Even at 4k, the 3600 was sometimes too slow to fully utilize a 7700xt, in some titles.

But Im offered by non-Super RTX 4070 for 400€ and RTX 4070 Ti Super for 745€
4070 for 400 euro is a great deal. BUT you want it for 4K, and it's a 1440p card.

Even the 4070 Ti Super is going to struggle at 4K. 4080 is a minimum.

You should really wait for the next generation nvidias. The top of the line models will release in time for Christmas. More budget friendly GPUs should be out by Easter.
Anything you buy today will be wasted money in just 4 months.

Save your money.

Interesting opinion...

Your existing monitor is a 4K 60Hz display? Or you plan on upgrading to that resolution?

What's your current graphics cards.

What are your main games?
Yes, my existing monitor is 4K 60Hz display.

Former graphics card was RTX 3080 which was alright, but I sold it some time before, when there have been crypto fever (my was non-LHR version).

Main games are like Playstation titles and singleplayer - Death Stranding, Alan Wake, Spiderman, Horizon, Last of Us...

I was wondering if its vanilla RTX 4070 on par with former RTX 3080 in new games and new drivers? Because 400 bucks is a great price, even in situation when a new generation is around corner? And after the new generation will be released, then probably will sold RTX 4070 for a price where I wont lose a lot from my purchase price?
