Question RTX 4080 or RTX 4070 Ti ?

Hi!

I'm in the middle of building a new PC. Originally I wanted to buy the ASUS ROG Strix RTX 4070 Ti but than I saw that the same brand RTX 4080 isn't far off the price of the 4070 Ti.

My question is that the 4080 worth the extra money or shoud I stick with the 4070 Ti? I bought a ASUS ROG-STRIX-1000G 1000W PSU.

I saw a lot of hate videos about the 4070 Ti but most of those vids were about the price of the card and not the performance. Im in 2K res. so both are equally good for me, but if the 4080 is worth the extra month wait, that I'll wait.

Technically, the 4080 is worth more than 4070 Ti because of the 16GB VRAM alone. I honestly do not recommend buying the 40 series, I think the 50 series will fix a lot of problems of the 40 series. But if you have to, then 4080 is better IMO.

The PC is almost done. The only thing missing is the gpu. I don't know when the 50 series will release, so I'll buy the 4080 then in the next month.

If I was building now I would seriously be considering AMD. Take a look at reviews of the 7900XT and 7900XTX.

if AMD can fix the drivers they are the way to go..........

I just have had issues with every single AMD card due to drivers.

NO idea why the 4070TI is not a 16GB card for the pricing.

With that being said the 4070TI TUF is a great card, I have the STRIX version.

For me at 1440p I chose the 4070TI and have had no issues whatsoever. Great performance and no regrets. I have a G-sync chipped monitor and that forced me to buy Nvidia. I knew when I purchased a monitor without Freesync that it might come back to haunt me.

The 4080 is going to be the better long term gpu due to the added VRAM over the 4070ti. Is that igh price tag worth it to you?

The 7900xt is the best overall gpu value right now as it costs less than the 4070ti, has more VRAM, is far more 4k capable than the 4070ti. But it does lag in ray tracing.

There is no wrong choice between the 7900xt, 4080 or 4070ti. It's a matter of what your are comfortable with spending.

The 80 does do much better. I just went from a 70 ti oc to an 80 oc. At 4k 3dmark went from 10579 to 13440. If you play at 1440 tho, the 70 would do just fine. They're not far off in price. The 80 would be more future proof with the added vram.
