RTX 5000 graphics cards get deep discounts at Newegg — RTX 5070, 5060 Ti, and 5060 all fall to low prices ahead of Prime Day

Cheapest 5070 ti at the Egg is $900. So maybe only the inferior models are getting down to MSRP.

I did notice while at Microcenter two days ago that they are sitting on many many dozens of 5090s, all priced over $3k. Tons of inventory, but no sales. Also no price reductions either. I paid $720 for a 9070XT. It was the cheapest

The 5090 is the only worthwhile upgrade over the 4000 series.

It could be a tidy profit, if you know where to get a stash of 3GB GDDR7 chips, know how to edit a VBIOS, have a steady hand, and a soldering station capable of balling BGA.

At least these companies used to try and fool us that we were getting a deal by setting a high MSRP and then giving us these supposed deals... Now they selling it at MSRP and call it a deal.

What will they learn that the silicon they diverted from AI only chips to fill gaming card stock that make up less than 3% of their income should have gone to the AI cards they were originally intended?

They learn that the pricing is wrong even if it's 3 percent if you support there pricing by all means buy it defending the indefensible is pretty poor. Also ai won't last forever the bubble will burst eventually especially if china enters the game it might take few years but something will break nothing lasts forever. Nvidia aren't stupid which is why there keeping there foot in the door intel and AMD will catch them off guard it's happened before it will happen again.

I am not seeing the discount in the site.. Is this to be active today?
BESTBUY link works, thanks for the option..

Thanks

From what I've read, you still have a high chance of your prized "now at MSRP!" card burning up.

How exciting.

They couldn't pay me to use their cards.

AI won’t last forever is like saying the internet won’t last forever. Machines netwoing is here to stay boss … AI is here and will be here, the singularity is near, Nvidia just may not always be at the fore front but Ai isn’t going anywhere. To put this into perspective for you last quarter was Nvidias biggest quarter in history for gaming at 4 billion , AI was 10x larger at $40 billion. Oracles latest order just for cards , and that’s 1 company, is $160 billion. It would take 10 years for the entire gaming industry for Nvidia to equal what 1 single order from Oracle happened to be. I don’t think you understand the magnitude of why Nvidia won’t learn anything other than move more silicon to producing much more lucrative cards for enterprise.

what market share will nvidia have once china has ranked up production etc ai landscape will change and nvidia will be quite quickly in the dirty why because everything is cheaper to produce in china. chinas gpu devision will catch up might not happen overnight but if money is to be made china will do it. point is the bubble will burst people said the exact same crap about crypto when it went and once a more effective way comes around nvidia will fall.

That's some nice fanfiction you got going there...

Nvidia is no longer a gaming gpu company, they are a vector coprocessor company that specializes in FP16 and FP32 products. It just happens to be that those two instruction types are absolutely amazingly good at data processing algorithms. We're talking orders of magnitude better then scalar cpu processing. That's not going away anytime in the next century.

Nvidia's part in this is not at the application side where the data is presented or consumed but rather at the origination where the data is processed. Currently it's all the AI model training where data scientists throw billions upon billions of data points at algorithms building models to detect patterns.

Agreed China is a serious threat to Nvidias hegemony. Especially, that China’s government has made it their priority to be the globes technological capital. Just finished reading great book on the subject about Apple in China, and as a company they singly handedly turned them into the worlds electronics manufacturing capital but more importantly transferred a wealth of engineering knowledge and unprecedented capital investment into their technology sector. Spending in a single year the entirety of what the US CHIPs act budgeted for the program. You are right Chinese chips section and AI will undoubtedly catch up and surpass Nvidia. They have planned this for a couple of decades and have been executing flawless, through politics, leverage, and a savvy I was previously unaware … and they have done it multiple sectors example EVs , Chinese manufacturers are now at the forefront and aks yourself why. But you are absolutely correct China is a serious threat to Nvidia. What’s insane this is not about exports or tariffs but a transfer technological knowledge.

I got a 7900 XTX back in the day at MSRP, because nobody wanted them and everyone wanted a 4090 or 4080 because they were so much better.

I am laughing now, because my card still can hold it's ground against a bunch of these newer cards.
