Preface: I’m beginning planning for a new PC build. I never do any gaming, so I am not concerned about either CPU or GPU FPS rates. I have very simple productivity task with MS Office apps and Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. I also use Dragon Naturally Speaking.

The PC will be an SFF form factor. Previously, I used Asus Phoenix RTX 3080 GPU’s in this type of PC. Zotac is now introducing the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 5060 SOLO, which is similar to the Asus Phoenix.

My question is:

I notice that the Nvidia RTX 5060 operates at PCIe 5.0 X8 rather than X16.

Many motherboard OEM’s advise checking their bifurcation support info since installing two (2) m.2 NVME PCIe 5.0X4 SSD’s drops the PCIE slot used most often for GPU’s to PCie 5.0 X8 from X16.

Am I right in assuming that if I did use two (2) m.2 NVME SSD’s at PCIe 5.0X4, and the PCIe 5.0X16 slot drops to X8, that the RTX 5060 would operate at full PCIe 5.0X8 with no problems?

All input greatly appreciated.
