News RTX 5080 is allegedly only 17% faster than RTX 5070 Ti, according to 3DMark benchmarks

Well the 4080 was only 16.7% faster than an "OCd" 4070TI without ray tracing and 17.7% with ray tracing, so it's not like the revelation that the 5080 would only be 15-20% faster than the 5070 Ti is unexpected.

They have a low profile RTX 4060 and a single regular size 4060, and some RTX 3060/3050. Minimum listed 5070 Ti price is $900 like the others.

They have literally 6 RX 7600 in stock and one 6650XT. Plenty RX 6600.

They just don't have anything.

Not their fault, Nvidia stopped production on the 40 series excepting the 4060. AMD stopped production on the higher end 7000 series some time ago. So until the 9070 and 9070 XT and 5070 and 5070 Ti hit the market, there is basically nothing left.

I think they have learned that leaving the previous gen in the market is bad for their bottom line.

Forgot to check Intel. They have 4 B570 in Kansas, and 2 A580.

Yep, local Microcenter has two models of 4060 for sale, and some 3060 models. That is it.

Those 900 prices might be place holders as well until they actually launch. But yeah, not likely to be 750.

That’s possible. Glad I picked up the 7900xtx in December for 800. More than I’ve ever spent on a gpu but on the other hand I probably got one of the last ones at that price, and compared to prices I’m seeing currently that may have been a deal.

I have only regrets on my 3080 Ti, price wise, 3080 12GB came out not too long after for $600 less.

Actually somewhat tempted by a 5070 Ti, but I know if I get it and Nvidia does a node shrink after this, I will be very annoyed. Exactly what happened with my GTX 980 purchase, instantly worth half once the 1060 6GB launched. Only way I can justify it is if I sell the 3080 Ti, but I kind of want to keep the last generation of EVGA card. I do know someone looking for a sub $500 card and it would make the impact a lot less.

But I also want to see what Intel comes up with, and I can't really justify two high end gaming GPUs.

I've already started gathering what I need for my next gaming build. I'm waiting for the 9800X3D to become available at MSRP. I have no interest in Ray Tracing, as it adds nothing to my gaming experience. So I want raw superfast FPS. I was interested in the 7900XTX but the card would not fit in any of my prebuilts, too long.

So I am waiting to see if AMD introduces the successor to the 7900XTX. If not I will have no problem stuffing the 7900XTX inside the Fractal North XL chassis.

That's 4080 territory, very good if it's truth. I was expecting the 5070 Ti to be more on par with the 4070 Ti Super , let's see those benchs. But then that explains why AMD decided to beef up the 9070 XT to 4080 level as well, now they must price their card well bellow $700 if they intend to really be aggressive this time around, the 9070 XT should definitely be a 7900XTX at $600

What is sick are the profit margins that the retailers are getting once production ramps up and they are getting larger quantities of cards. They buy them in bulk for an even bigger discount. They buy at less than 1/3 they charge us for them.

You have a source for that? Because typically hardware markup is 10-15%. I knew a manager at Gamestop and he told me that they made between $25-50 for every XBOX and Playstation console sold, which is about 10%.
