Looking at some of the third-party images appearing, some has 3 or even 4 fans, whereas the Founders Edition has 2. Although I've decided on the FE RTX 5090, that was before the keynote and images.

I'm not bothered about overclocking, so in that respect overclocked third-party GPU's is not of interest. However, it seems that third-party GPU's with more fans, larger shroud, might run cooler than a FE.

Obviously reviews which have yet to appear, will have more details than what we know at the moment. When the time for pre-orders arrive, I'd like to order the most adviseable one.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

since you're not going to get one the first few months they are out due to parasite resellers snapping them all up and tripling the price, you got plenty of time to wait for tons of reviews and then make a decision with actual facts rather than speculative guesswork :)

we'd only be guessing based on past models/releases. so if you wish start reading every 4090 review you find and make the same assumptions we'd be making based on the same reviews!!

Until we get actual reviews and they hit the market and we see the actual prices and not wishful thinking, it's pointless to even guess. Even before the availability, that is.

But hey, let's do it for entertainment's sake. That sexy 2 slot cooler needs to dissipate near 600w worth of heat. I'm not optimistic on that, it probably would handle it just barely at default clocks.

It's just the reality of it. Yes, it looks good, but you have a literal 600w heater in your PC there and would that only the card itself run hot - it would also heat up everything else there. Nobody needs it.
