[citation][nom]del35[/nom]Ummm the average person buying Apple products wouldn't know the difference.[/citation]
I agree. Most people don't care whats in their computers any more than most people care about what kind of wiring is in their TV. I hope that doesn't mean that everyone that doesn't know what brand and model of LCD panel that is used in their TV is just an ignoramus.
We, here, are enthusiasts, but to most people their computers are just commodities. ...just tools. I know many here think that's blasphemy. Another seperate perspective: Why do you pay so much more for an topped out Acura RDX than you do for a topped out Honda CR-V? ...because of the cost of the upgrades? ...because leather seats cost $4K more to manufacture? ...because you the buyer is dumb?
I'm not defending Asus, Samsung, Apple, Microsoft, Dell or any other company. Those that are loyal to or against a brand and set in their ways have every right to feel that way.
I am, however, suggesting that you recognize that views, about this technology we're so enthusiatic about, views others than your own, that differ from yours...are not necessarily wrong or based on ignorance as so many would have everyone believe. Everyone doesn't buy technology with the same criteria us enthusiasts do. ...and we're minority. I imagine similar conversations may arise about what single-engine private aircraft anti-collision light bulbs are better than others. I hope its not unfair to say, "I don't really give a hoot."
Some folks here will love anything Asus makes but hate anything from Dell. ...love anything from Apple but hate anything from HP. Why be so opinionated instead of being more objective? Its great having both nice Macs and a decent PC. Why restrict oneself?
Who am I talking to? The Del35's out there.
