Rumor: Microsoft Upgrading Xbox One Specs, Features

Looks like you guys may have stumbled across an X-Box 1 dev kit card last year and not even realized it! It's clocked at 860 MHz so the shipping version probably won't vary much from that (I'd even speculate lower due to maximizing yields, etc). Not sure about the RAM though, it might be possible but I wouldn't hold my breath...more likely they'd work on optimizing the OS to decrease it's memory footprint.

PS4 has 50% more GPU cores of the same AMD architecture. How much can Microsoft gain 15% at the cost of instability, heat and power consumption? Besides Sony can also overclock and manintain advantage.

ill say this rumor is not true at all. why? because XB1 is likely already being mass manufactured. one of the reasons consoles work well is because all the hardware is the same at all times. having one newer xbox run faster than a early model, would hinder the early models experience. they arent just going to throw away thousands of wafers of silicon and get behind on manufacturing schedule just to upgrade the gpu a slight bit.

however, if they plan to up the clock speed of the gpu through an overclocking update, then they are in for a really bad ride if the cooling isnt up to par.

the family plan returning would definitely have them on equal or near equal grounds to the ps4 in competition. people are still buzzing about ps4 gaming features and for the most part, paying little positive attention to xb1 current media center features.

Still doesn't overcome hardware superiority since the PS4 hardware can also be optimized.

It would be good to see MS bring back the family sharing option and up the clock speed. But it doesnt really matter to me im buying both consoles. Once i play on them both i will be able to see which is the best console. Games wise im going for the xbox one. Ryse son of rome and titanfall look very gud
