Do we really need smart watches? Is this technology really necessary? Why don't they just cut out the middle man and wire Android 4.2 and cameras directly into our brains?

I recall many experts saying the tablet would fail and now they seem to be a little more optimistic about wearable tech. Unless electronic companies can make wearable tech look cool then it will be the equivalent to an 80s nerdy calculator watch. I htink this is one reason why Apple is taking its time to get it right and add health related tech to their smart watch and lets see how Samsung's hurried version performs. Curved screen does look cool but it is more than just a bluetooth add-on?!?
