Would it cause an issue, to run 1.5 V ddr3 ram, on a intel i5-6600 CPU, when it says it supports memory type "DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.35V" (source: http://ark.intel.com/products/88188/Intel-Core-i5-6600-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz)

Darathorn, it may run for weeks or it may last years. Its new so theres not alot if data available yet.

Asher2099, The memory controller is on the cpu so while a board may list support for 1.5v ddr3 the cpu technically does not support it and ddr3 1.5v is likely to reduce the cpus lifespan. Pretty much Intel is saying skylakes mc is sensitive to higher voltages.

And, what would a qualified guess be, as to how long "time" is... buying new ram wasn't part of the original idea o.o

If you have t already bought the board then buy on of the Asus or gigabyte boards that support DDR3 at 1.5v

If you already bought a board that only supports DDR3/L and not standard DDR if it boots then your fine but try to down voltage in the bios to as close as you can to 1.35v an still run stable

But again your safest bet is to buy a board that supports regular DDR3 if that's what you are planning to use and there are at least a dozen or so boards that do
