Running 2 different GPU's in my system

First thing, I don't want to use these in SLI

My problem is I have a GeForce 770 for gaming and whatnot, and I just put an old Quadro FX 3700 in the PC. I would like to use the Quadro card for rendering and dedicated PhysX. I plugged in the card and the fan is making a really loud sound. So what I would like to do is turn down the RPM, but I can't get the card recognized by the system.

My displays are plugged into the 770.

Is the Quadro working fine? And is it completely undetected or just in certain programs?

I can't get it to detect in anything. I know it works though as I had just had it in another computer

Be sure the GPU is getting enough power (Older GPUs tend to be very thirsty for power). Be sure it's seated properly and power cables are properly set up.

I got it installed correctly with the power plug. I know it has enough power because if I remove the plug from it, it makes a very loud beeping sound, which I would assume it makes when it does not have enough power.

Is the slot fine? Also, can you try the other way around? Boot from the Quadro and see whether if the 770 is detected.

The slot works. I know that. I'll try to switch the boot order and reply later.
