Hi

i bought a RX460 4gb which is a great little card, however i find myself needing to be able to power 4 screens as part of a work station.

I dont need anything in pureview etc i just need to have 4 screens with extended desktops on them.

I notice a display port which can be split into 2 screens, currently i am running 2 screens on a DVI and HDMI cable.

I know on older GPU you cant plug a DVI VGA and HDMI in and they work hence the upgrade.

I am happy to get a RX480 if need be but i was wondering if anyone can answer if the rx460 can run 4 screens for work station use not games if i get a display port adapter to run 2 extra vga screens on ( the monitors are VGA )

many thanks

???

you answered...
i got a athlonx4 860k and a FX8350 the FM2 board doesnt have a built in gpu and the AM3 board has a HD3000 series built in which windows 10 doesnt support

I have tried those USB3 display adaptors and while ok for 1 extra screen they dont work well for 4. the drivers on them conflict with each others drivers etc.

???

you answered your own question

displayport > 2 screens by itself

DVI > 1 screen

HDMI > 1 screen

= 4 screens

Solution
i wasn't sure if it would work as its expensive one of those displayport hubs its not like its a £5 risk out of my pension which is why i asked the question. i had already purchased 2 usb3 graphics things and can only use 1 as the drivers conflict even with other brands versions.
