Running 8th gen intel on older MOBOs

I'm just wondering if its possible to use the new 8th gen intel cpus with the old motherboards since they are cheaper and also if its possible how worse or better or the same would the performance be?

Nope, only newest Z370 motherboard can support 8th gen Intel.

If you want a less expensive motherboard alternative than the Z370 for Coffee Lake, you'll have to wait until next year for motherboard vendors to release their H and B series chipsets. There are some rumors they'll be out in time for Christmas, but I doubt it.
