Running Sata 3 SSD on sata 2 slot

Hello, I have the chance to grab a 60gb SSD for £10. It is a Kingston 60GB 2.5" SSDNow V300 SATA III but the problem is my PC is very old (due an upgrade soon ))) and I only have Sata 2 ports. Motherboard is MSI 2A9C and I bought this computer from a computer shop ages ago... I know, i messed up.

My question is then could I use that SSD and would it really yield any positives considering its on SATA 2, would it be faster than a HDD still if both are plugged in to SATA 2 and is it worth it? I know its used but would it still be worth the investment. It has been totally wiped.

1. Yes it will be faster. A little bit slower than if on a SATA III port, but it will indeed be faster than an HDD.

2. I hope you're not planning on using this for the OS drive. 60GB is too small.
(yes, you can. But you'll be continually managing space on it.)

For today's systems and prices, 250GB or larger.
