Hello:)
Hello,
I just upgraded my 4 yr old pc by installing i7 870 on GA-P55A-UD3 & using intel stock cpu cooler. The running temp varies=61*,58*,62*, 59* while on 80% load crunching Rosetta@home projects. IS THESE TEMPERATURE SAFE? If these is OK, I will not buy an expensive cpu cooler. Tight on budget. THANKS VERY MUCH FOR YOUR ADVICE.

Those temperatures are fine. Nothing to worry about if that's the worst you get. For what it's worth, I was getting 80-85C under full load on my i7 860. Upgraded for less than $30 to Cooler Master Hyper 212+ (I've seen around $23 when on sale at Amazon, MicroCenter, maybe Buy.com), and full load now tops out around 53C with ambient of 18C.

Hi ekoostik:)
Thanks a lot for your input. I will use the stock Intel Cpu Cooler for the time being.
The computer is mostly use for Crunching Rosetta@home and World Community Grid
projects at 80% load. I have to experiment and prove that my old 380watts psu and an intel
supplied stock cpu cooler are adequate. I believe Intel people knows that providing a basic
usable cooler is ok. If I am wrong, it will cost me bundle.
Many thanks again.
