Running virtual machines on an AMD machine

Hey guys my current set up goes as follows: AMD FX- 6300, 16 GB of RAM, GeForce 750ti, and tons of hard drive space. My dilemma right now is that I need to find a way to emulate Apple's newest osx software (Yosemite) on this PC. Is this possible why or why not? (Please thoroughly explain) Also what steps would I need to take in order to get this done and what problems should I expect to encounter if it could work.

Sidebar: I'm only asking this because while scouring the maze in which is the internet w/ my guide google, I've come across articles here and there saying software emulation is tougher on an amd processor and since I'm relatively new at this I was wondering if someone could shed some light on this subject. Thanks

EDIT: Also is it possible to provide a brief explanation of emulating basics ie: Hyper-V, Dual booting, and Virtualization

I also have an AMD based computer, when i tried it didn't work at all. My only tip is to disable PAE(Physical Address Extension).
