Rust lag spikes on alienware alpha specs in desc

So last christmas I bought a alpha and rust but for some reason it runs with lag spikes and I get 40-60 fps but it drops as I play
I meet minimum requirements on https://www.systemrequirementslab.com and med settings on http://www.game-debate.com

List of thing I tried
changing wifi to ethernet
unparking cpu
raise priority to high/realtime
razer cortex

specs:
intel i7-4785T 2.20 GHZ

8gb ddr3 ram

nvidia gpu 2gb

1tb 7200rpm hdd

internet dl speed 90 mbps
internet upload speed 16 mbps

Can you provide us with your system specs in the thread please.

Also have you monitored your system during game play? Is CPU, GPU or Memory showing abnormally high usage? What about your system temps? Does this happen in any other games?

It only happens in rust and my disk runs 100% and my internet tab spikes very high and memory goes 75% the rest is below 50 percent used my temps are cpu 60c gpu 62c

And what is showing high disk usage? Is it showing Rust using most of the disk usage?

How is your disk usage when on idle?

disk when rust isnt running is about 10-15% used
disk when rust is running 90-100%

so yes rust uses the most and also rust only uses about 800 mb of my 2gb vram

(sorry not a pc pro so bare with me :3)

May not want to hear it but sounds like the hard drive can't keep up with the games needs.

Some games are GPU dependent or CPU etc... this game sounds like its hard drive write\read dependent.

Do you know how much cache you have on your current hard drive?

You may want to considering swapping it out for an SSD.
