rust launch problem

so i bought rust today and tried starting it up but every time do i get this error




the instruction at 0x775bd256 referenced memory at 0x00000008.the memory could not be written


i have no idea what it means so i was hoping some might any any help would be great a thanks in advance

Sounds like a RAM issue. Are you having any other issues with your system? Blue screens, other random errors?

no as my system brand new i was think that i might need more ram as i have 8gb of ddr3 so that might be an option

Adding more RAM wouldn't fix the issue, the program should still launch.

If you're not having any other issues, I would uninstall the program and reinstall, don't repair it. You have all your prerequisites up to date, yes? .NET Framework, C++ distributables, etc?

All your drivers up to date on things?

everything is up to date drivers etc could it possably be an os problem (i have windows7) i'll try to reinstalling it see how that works

It could be an OS problem, yeah. But I'm thinking its more a program problem because you say you're not having issues with anything else.

i've had no other problems as this is a brand new system and i have only 2 other games on it and the run fine so i do not no why this problem has occurred as of now i'm reinstalling it so i'll see where it goes from there

the reinstall did not fix the problem i could try updating to windows 8 or 10 at some other point and see if that works but i dont see why windows 7 is unable to run

I don't think updating your OS will fix the issue. Is the version of Rust you have compatible with your operating system?

from what i found rust can be run with windows xp as your os but it's recommended you play with windows 8 as my os that about all the info i could fine regarding my os

Not sure what else to tell you, pal. If everything else works on your system and this is the only thing you're having issues with; either the install media is corrupt or your OS is not compatible.
