Rust low gpu usage

why is my gpu usage so low? gpu: gtx 1080 cpu: i7 7700 at 4 ghz and 16 gb ram.

all drivers are up-to-date and vsync is off. and all power saving modes are off and in nvidia control panel I put the gtx 1080 on high performance.. this is kind of unplayable now (a lot of stuttering)

Why is the game using 12.5 GB memory? If you're doing much in the background I suspect it's a memory bottleneck. That's nuts that it's using that much

yes, I have 8 gb running in the background for other things like browsers and discord, skype all that stuff

Did you ever get to the bottom of it @ForeverMirin? I'm currently having issues getting my 1070 past 70% usage during the game. See here: http://imgur.com/a/Mzs1t

Did you manage to fix it? Currently experiencing the same issue with gtx 1060 6gb and r5 1600
