Question RustDesk Auto accept Connection

Hi Guys! Ok I'm been playing with remote desktop software and i came a across one called RustDesk. It seems to be pretty reliable but i have one problem. I have my windows laptop at home and my Windows in the workshop. They are on different networks . I can connect from the laptop to the pc but every time i do it i have to accept the connection.

This is well and good if i have someone in the workshop who can click on the Accepet button but I NEVER have anyone else in the workshop to do this.

My question is, Is it possible to configure RustDesk to automatically connect? If not can you suggest an alternative app that can do this?

I had not seen this software before but generally the accept function on software like this is to make it somewhat harder on hackers tricking someone into installing software and then gaining control.

You could just use a vpn and microsoft remote desktop without any relay server...unless of course you do not have a public IP address.

From reading the pages on this software it is open source so you should be able to change the code to function as you want. I did not dig around enough to see where they have a support forum but I suspect other users could point you in the direction you would need to go to make changes to the code.

Hi Bill001g i wasn't aware that Microsoft supported connection via the internet. I always assumed it was only for local networks. I'll certainly look into it. Thanks man!

OK So I was messing around with the security settings on RustDesk. It seems that manually specifying a LONG password allows you to connect. But the first connection has to be approved where as every connection there after is automatically accepted.

Not sure if microsoft remote desktop actually works from the internet, you would be stupid to do it since it has poor security. When you use a VPN you connection appears to be on the LAN so from microsofts viewpoint you are just connecting with another machine on the lan....that just happens to have very bad latency compared to the 1ms you get on the local lan

MS RDP definitely supports remote control through internet, as long as you have a public IP and sets up router's port forwarding correctly (TCP port 3389). But as suggested it's better to run RDP over VPN.
