Researching these 2 cards because they only draw power from the PCIE Slots.
RX 460 goes for £80 at the moment in Amazon
Whilst the 1050 goes for £100
Thers a 22% Difference in cost, but the GTX 1050 is 10% better in performance
Apparently RX 460 is better with DX12 games for future games.
But the GTX 1050 seems to be the stronger card overall
Which card should i get?
The games i will be playing are;
H1Z1 - King of the Kill
Counter Strike : Global Offensive
(Maybe) PLAYERUNKOWN Battlegrounds
Rust
League of Legends

If this matters, my cpu is a i3 2100, thinking of upgrading to a i5 2400 later or something like that.

I would go with the GTX 1050 personally but it is very close.

Above is a great video which goes into depth without being too bias.

Ill list some benchmarks below so you get an idea:

Assassins Creed Syndicated 1080p Medium:

GTX 1050 - 56FPS avg

RX 460: 43FPS avg

Batman Arkham Knight high :

GTX 1050: 53FPS avg

RX 460: 45FPS avg

Battlefield 1 ultra:

GTX 1050: 49FPS avg

RX 460: 35FPS avg

Crysis 3 Very High:

GTX 1050: 35FPS avg

RX 460: 29FPS avg

Dirt Rally ultra:

GTX 1050: 76FPS avg

RX 460: 56FPS avg

Fallout 4 high:

GTX 1050: 51FPS avg

RX 460: 51FPS avg

There are alot more in the video but in the long run, the GTX 1050 is better. If you have the money then go for it, but it...

I hope this helps

Thanks for the info,
I would consider getting a 960, however that requres a Power Connector which i cant use at the moment.
It seems the GTX 1050 can play most games at 50fps average unlike the RX 460. If i tone down some settings such as AA or Shadows, could the RX 460 pull atleast 60fps? I dont intend on maxing out games, medium-high ish settings would do for me
Im building a very budget Computer at the moment so the least im expecting would be 1080p 60fps on ultra settings

True, i forgot about that xD

RX 460 can do 1080p Medium pretty well.

Future support applies to everything. Drivers, bugs in games, performance etc

Thanks guys. I think im going to go for the RX 460 because i dont mind playing in 1080p Medium settings.
Altogether i wouldve spent £160 pounds on a really budget PC, which would be capable of medium/high 1080p. That would be amazing.
I would like to buy the GTX 1050 but the RX 460 is so cheap for what it is right now compared to the 1050.
Again, thanks for the help

Yeah, there is no reason why toning the settings down couldn't squeeze out 60FPS but of course this all depends on the game. With newer and more intense game engines being released it is probably more sensible just waiting that little bit of time so that you can secure the power you need :)

in regards to the power connector, why not use an adapter?
I'm currently using two 6 to 8 adapters on a GTX 970SLI set up and I have never had a problem with them.
They also go for realy cheap on amazon etc

What im worrying about is if the GPU would exceed what my psu can handle. My PSU is only a 280w, which means i have to play safe on what gpu i decide to buy. Hence why im going for th PCI-E Only GPU's. By the way, if the gpu only runs on a PCI-E Slot, does the +12v rail thing matter?
if it does then im in trouble since my psu only has 18A :(
