I'd wait til both the 480 partner cards and the 1060 partner cards have been released, then compare pricing and performance for all of the above, taking into account what games you want to play and at what resolution and settings.
The 960 will get you playable frame rates on high settings at 1080p for most games. If you're looking for well over 30 fps at max settings and/or higher resolutions, you'll want one of the newer cards.
