rx 480 4gb or rx 480 8gb

hey.is it too big difference between these two cards for the future, 4gb card is much much cheaper in my country.

It also depends on the rest of your system. However, in most gaming benchmarks from reviews the drop in performance is only 1-4%. So if the difference in price is significantly more than 5% then I would recommend getting the 4gb instead.

the 8GB version runs at 8Ghz (8Gbps) effective while the 4GB version runs at 7Ghz (7Gbps), not a big difference and you can still oc the 4GB version, id still recommend getting the 8GB version as some newer games tend to use a lot of VRAM, take for instance Battlefield 1 Multiplayer, it uses over 5GB at the max settings @ 2560x1080, and i believe more and more games will start to use more than 4GB frame buffer

I would go with the 8gb. Since the card will be fine for a while, but the 4gb of vram might be a problem.

he did mention that the price difference is quite large, and if budget is a constraining factor, get the 4GB version, there's nothing wrong with it.

I recently purchased a rx 480 4gb and play games solely on 1080p with the the occasional upscaling to higher resolutions and Im very impressed with its capabilities. I actually have a 1060 6GB and to be honest I prefer the 480 over the 1060 for a few reasons.

Besides some of the big ones that are related to my circumstances (Freesync, DX 12 heavy games, crossfire compatibility) It just feels more fluid in a few other non DX 12 games. Also the nvidia .ICC profiles for my monitors leave them terribly dark but the AMD profile is spot on. Yea the drivers for AMD are still bad compared to nvidias but they are getting better. From an nvidia fan im very happy with the AMD 480 series.

i think AMD cards give better colors, i had to borrow a friends' 290X a few months back while waiting for my 1070, the colors looked more vibrant and had more depth compared to my old 980Ti, and AMD cards support 10 Bit natively while nvidia does not or its locked by drivers.
